End of Season (Festive and Rowing) Party – 6th January 2017

The Royal Sportsman Hotel once again hosted our end of season party this year for 32 of our rowers their and accomplices.

Sophie was named as our most improved female rower of 2016. Already picked for the Celtic Challenge this year, Sophie competed her first distance races in the 2016 season, as well as in the league. Newcomer Dan Anderton was awarded the most improved male rower so we’ll be expecting more good things from him this year.

Pippa and Godfrey both received lifetime awards to acknowledge our appreciation for their dedication and all the fantastic work they continue to do for the club, it couldn’t run without them.

The Bosun’s cup was awarded to Gerry Clarke; best team player to Gaye Harvey; Most enthusiastic to Caroline; Most sandbanks landed on went to Geoff (again – he really should give someone else a chance with this one); Most swearing cox to Steve ***** Mundy; Biggest natterer to Leslie and Best rowing attire to Rich A – those shorts are indelibly imprinted on the minds of all that witnessed them.

A special thanks was deservedly given to Sarah T, Simon and Rich G for all their hard work in 2016.

The evening was finished off with a beverage or twelve and entertainment from Carron and a disco.
